This remodel project involved the Kitchen, Hearth
Room, Dining, Planning, Entry and Outside Deck areas.
The homeowners originated from the southeast part of the
country and wanted to capture the charm and character of the
southern style for a newer west
Omaha home.
The Kitchen, Eating Area and Entry floor were heated and surfaced
with walnut travertine. The cabinetry was treated as
individual furniture pieces with hand rubbed stains in alternating
warm and dark tones.
In
the Planning Area, a freestanding bookcase was designed and then
built by local craftsmen to accommodate display items and filing
storage needs. And in the Eating Area, stained, distressed
pecky cypress beams were added for warm texture and a touch of
southern sophistication for a more intimate eating experience.
The Dining Room floor incorporated hand scraped prefinished
walnut. |
