Nine.  Major Remodel & Additions
Many times open floor plans that are popular with today's lifestyles lack a sense of coziness and independent space.  That is certainly not the case on this remodeled 1950's ranch home.  This project is a good example of what our firm refers to as "creating spaces within spaces".

The “empty nester” Clients wanted to create spaces that were just as comfortable for the two of them as they were when all of their children and grandchildren were over for their frequent visits.  We accomplished this by creating (2) octagonal shaped Additions to the home.  The smaller one created space for a comfortable Eating Area off the remodeled and enlarged Kitchen; the larger addition is a unique Family Room.  A raised, wrap-around, fireplace hearth was designed to allow plenty of overflow seating.  The Family Room opens back up to the Kitchen and Dining Room and each space is defined by the use of different flooring and different ceiling treatments.  The Lower Level of the Addition includes a wraparound Bar area and a sunken Media & Billiards Room.  If the Lower Level looks familiar, you might have seen it on the cover of a recent "Better Homes & Gardens" Basement Planning Book!
